BNBM Waterproof Contributes to the Official Operation of the New Gwadar International Airport in Pakistan!
Recently, the new Gwadar International Airport in Pakistan, in which BNBM Waterproof participated in the construction, has been officially put into operation. Pakistani Defense and Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif, Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sanaullah Bugti and others attended the airport's opening ceremony and witnessed this historic moment.
As the largest project of China's government's foreign aid in terms of amount since the reform and opening up, this project has been highly valued by the governments and leaders of both countries. The new Gwadar International Airport in Pakistan is a key project and a landmark project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under the Belt and Road Initiative. It is located 26 kilometers northeast of Gwadar City, Balochistan Province, Pakistan, covering an area of approximately 18 square kilometers. The flight area is classified as 4F. The long-term plan for the airport is to handle 1 million passengers annually by 2060 and meet the transportation demand of 30,000 tons of cargo and mail annually.
As one of the main member units involved in the construction of the new Gwadar International Airport, BNBM Waterproof actively implements the "Belt and Road Initiative", earnestly implements the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Pakistan, centers on the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and fully leverages its extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure construction and brand advantages. It mainly provides over 20,000 square meters of self-adhesive polymer modified asphalt waterproofing membranes without a base fabric and other material guarantees for the airport's terminal building roof.
For this construction task, the BNBM Waterproofing project team made meticulous preparations in terms of waterproofing scheme formulation, material production, and technical personnel arrangement. Due to the stainless steel material of the airport roof, its pitched design, and high roof temperature, the construction was challenging for the workers. They had to solve the problem of anti-slip during the roll material application while ensuring the best waterproofing effect. Therefore, the BNBM Waterproofing project team conducted a comprehensive inspection and functional verification of the airport roof and material performance in advance. Eventually, they selected the non-woven self-adhesive polymer modified asphalt waterproofing roll material, which has the advantages of safety, environmental friendliness, good stability, strong corrosion resistance, and long service life. This effectively promoted the high-quality and fast construction of the project.
On the stage of international cooperation and mutual assistance, BNBM Waterproof has demonstrated remarkable commitment and strength. Besides participating in the construction of the new Gwadar International Airport in Pakistan, it has also actively engaged in the construction of the Mahosot Hospital in Laos, the third phase of Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport, the Port of Callao in Peru, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, the China-Laos Railway, and the headquarters office building of the Economic Community of West African States, among others. Through these high-quality projects, BNBM has established its brand and showcased the image of a responsible central state-owned enterprise.
